Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your visit.Īll of the seats in our three new auditoriums have viewing angles of 52 degrees or lower (36-66 is generally accepted as standard) except for those in the the front two rows (which we don't even sell tickets for in auditorium 5). You have to wait for the lobby staff answer your call to determine location.Īvoid the headache and check out a traditional, well designed multiplex for a comfortable movie experience in Eugene or Springfield. Their recorded message gives only the showings times, NOT the theater number. Nor can you discover - in advance - if the film you hope to see is in one of these new, “nose-to-the-screen” micro-theaters. Management will cordially refund your ticket price if you can’t cope with the optical strain but that does not repair your disrupted evening at a movie. If you don’t get there early enough to grab some rear row seats, near the handicapped section, you are in for two hours or more of discomfort. The screens are just too wide and the seating too close for your eyes’ angle of acceptance to take it in as a single image. You are forced to scan the screen - left to right, right to left - to take in the full projected images. The expanded Metro has new theaters with terribly designed seating. Only complaint is the half hour of ads & previews before the show started, but otherwise an outstanding venue which we’ll visit again! For sure a special movie treat if you get gift cards for family & friends! They’ve also just added “house-made” food to their menu! Some say they have the best popcorn in town, reasonably priced, & with great topping selections. We loved the coziness of this little theater! The high-backed, cushioned seats were so comfortable, with nicely tiered seating, good leg room, and cup holders for drinks. There’s also 2-hour, free parking on nearby streets – about a 5-minute walk away, with nearby restaurants too. Metered parking is just steps from the theater entryway (free after 6 pm, and on Sundays). “Fantastic Fungi” is definitely FANTASTIC – a mesmerizing, & exquisitely entertaining film that will keep you spellbound to the very end! Check the Broadway Metro’s website for other movies & showtimes. Matinees are only $6 (to 4 pm), and it’s up-close & personal viewing, with every seat in the house good! Kudos to the Bijou for supporting Community Arts from others! We surely look forward to other first-run foreign & independent films, + classic cinema.Don’t miss “Fantastic Fungi” now playing at this delightful downtown theater. The young staff are remarkable – warmly welcoming you, & sincerely wanting you to enjoy the show! When we were there, children’s artwork decorated the lobby walls. Free parking is in an adjacent lot, & just a short walk to the side entrance to the theater. Restrooms are accessed through an outside courtyard, and then down a narrow hallway to interior rooms. The movie prices are very reasonable, & just $7 for students, and $6 for seniors. ![]() We were there to see the premier showing of the Eagle Huntress – filmed in Mongolia – an awesome documentary & heartfelt story – beautifully filmed, and a MUST see! In fact, it was so popular, it was held over. Special cup holders by cushioned chairs, make it extra comfortable. Sound is good, and it all feels very special! Just outside the movie room is the snack area – including sale of delicious fresh popcorn with assorted toppings, plus local beers & ciders, and wine by the glass – all which you can take into the theater. Very enchanting atmosphere! Although seating is not tiered, the seats are staggered, allowing good viewing of the 30-foot-screen. ![]() ![]() Willcox’s students helped design other features – including the showy copper lamps that still hang from the Italian Gothic beams of the vaulted wood ceiling in the former chapel area which is now the main movie theater with 104 seats. Willcox (a professor/& Dean of Architecture at the University of Oregon). We were thrilled with the cozy atmosphere of this charming downtown movie venue! It felt very homey inside and the outside was noteworthy – a historic church with tall cathedral glass windows, and notably designed in 1925 by W.R.B.
