![]() ![]() In some of the places I toured, you're talking to a sales director or a sales manager, and that person a lot of times doesn't know anything about taking care of somebody with memory issues. Once my mom is in there, we'll just have to see if that continues, but I would say that they seemed to understand some of the memory care challenges because I met with the head nurse and she understands that. The staff seemed knowledgeable and engaged with people when I went to the facility. I also like the fact that they had all the rooms facing a courtyard, so it appears to be more open, and there's more natural light coming in. Sandra I like that Vista Gardens Memory Care has a lot more outdoor space and the staff is dedicated to memory care issues, so it seems to be the best fit for my mother. They would be more than happy to help us, anything that we can bring in that makes it feel more at home, and we're welcome to hang pictures. They're trying to be more accommodating with that. It was very clean, and I found out yesterday, when I dropped off more paperwork, that her room is being painted now. The staff has been very patient, the residents all seem to know my name, and they were all happy and smiling. We were out in the patios, in the rec rooms, and the eating areas. They had garden areas and they had walkways. ![]() I'm hoping that my friend adapts to it very well. Some places there's a foul smell that greets you at the door. The residents that we ran into along our tour, they all seemed very happy and friendly. They always have some activities for the seniors. I've been there a couple of times and they didn't know that I was coming, even after our review, and I thought it was great. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident They have an actual park on their premises and a raised garden bed. They have a huge outdoor space for the residents. When you're there for respite care only, it's maybe a little bit more expensive than if you were there on a full-time basis, but for peace of mind and overall care, it's worth it to me. It's 12 years old, and it's very neat, clean and homey. It's restaurant-style and the residents can order whatever they like. They're not restricted to one choice every day. They offer a variety of things for the residents. The dining room was beautiful and very spacious. I didn't have a lot of direct experience with the food, but I saw menus. I'm very impressed with the facility in general, and the outdoor facilities for the residents were exceptional. My husband stayed there just for three weeks. Laura Vista Gardens Memory Care was great.
